Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • We confirm that the results presented in this manuscript are new and have not been published previously. This manuscript is not under consideration in any other journals and will not be submitted to other journals while under consideration and/or publication in the Chemical Bulletin of Kazakh National University.
  • I have read "Instructions for authors" at https://bulletin.chemistry.kz/index.php/kaznu/about/submissions
  • Attached manuscript is in .doc or .docx format. Font size is 12.
  • Abstract represents all sections of the manuscript. Key results of the work are presented in the abstract. Size is 150-250 words.
  • Ethical guidelines were not violated when preparing the manuscript. Funding source is provided in the Acknowledgement section.
  • I know that metadata must include detailed information about ALL co-authors of the manuscript.
  • I prepared the Cover letter with a brief description of the novelty and importance of the manuscript that should be uploaded during manuscript submission
  • All co-authors agreed upon the content of the manuscript and its submission to our Journal. I have e-mails of all coauthors for providing them during the submission
  • CRediT Author Statement is provided in the manuscript (https://bulletin.chemistry.kz/index.php/kaznu/credit)
  • Declaration of competing interest is provided in the end of the manuscript

Author Guidelines

Before submission of the manuscript, prepare two files:

1) the main file of the manuscript in DOC, DOCX or RTF format containing all sections, figures and tables prepared according to all requirements;

2) ZIP or RAR archive (uploaded at Step 4 "Supplementary Files) containing:

  • separate files of figures (in PDF, EMF, PNG, TIFF or JPG formats) without captions prepared according to the requirements; names of files - fig1.pdf, fig2.emf, fig3.png, etc.
  • electronic or scanned cover letter signed by the corresponding author, containing brief information about the novelty of the manuscript (max 2-4 sentences) and key (2-4) results of the work; if the manuscript is submitted by a student in co-authorship with a supervisor, the Cover Letter must be signed by a supervisor
  • the file of the graphical abstract in PNG or TIFF format; the name of the file - ga.png
  • any supplementary files

For submission of articles, we recommend using the latest versions of Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome web browsers.

All manuscripts submitted to the journal should be written using Times New Roman or Calibri font (12 pt) at a single interval.

All manuscripts (except reviews) must include the following sections: Abstract, Keywords, 1. Introduction, 2. Experimental, 3. Results and Discussion, 4. Conclusions, 5. Acknowledgments, CRediT Author Contribution Statement, Declaration of Competing Interest and References.

Review articles must include Abstract, Keywords, 1. Introduction, 2. Main Part (Discussion), 3. Acknowledgments, CRediT Author Contribution Statement, Declaration of Competing Interest and References. Main Part should be divided into numbered sub-sections. For better readability of review articles, we recommend including at least 2 figures and 1 table. A minimum number of references to scientific articles - 30. Editorial board have stricter requirements to review articles, which should show key problems of a reviewed field and possible ways of their solutions. For all figures from other articles, authors must obtain permissions from copyright owners.

Below the title of the article, give affiliations of all authors and e-mail of the corresponding author.

Abstracts should contain between 150 and 250 words.

Figures should have sufficient quality. Graphs should be prepared in special software (MS Excel, Origin or other). All axes should be marked, units of measurements should be given. All words and numbers on figures should be clearly seen. Detailed manual on preparation and submission of figures.

Use square brackets [] for citations. Guidelines for the preparation of the list of references.

Metadata must contain detailed information about all co-authors of the manuscript. If this information is not provided, the manuscript will be rejected.

Timelines

Timelines depend on the quality of the manuscript and speed of a peer review. Average time of the publication of a properly prepared article - 10 weeks after submission. 

Publication Fee

Papers submitted for publication are subject to an article processing charge. The publication fee for this journal is 3,000 tenge (KZT)/page (for example, the fee for publication of an article consisting of 6 printed pages is 18,000 tenge). Authors are only charged if the article is published. There are no submission fees.

Manuscripts prepared in accordance with the general recommendations for writing scientific articles have higher chances to be accepted.
