Formation of colossal (giant) carbon nanotubes in a plasmachemical reactor.
Abstract
This paper presents the results of numerical and experimental study of colossal (giant) Carbon nanotubes formation in plasmachemical reactor by propane-butane mixture pyrolysis. Physical and chemical investigation of the produced technical carbon showed presence of nanostructures in the form of colossal (giant) carbon nanotubes with high electric conductivity and mechanical strength which is 30 times more than one of aramid fiber (kevlar).
