Study of phase equilibria in the ternary “copper formate – formamide –water” system at 25 degrees C

Abstract

The solubility in the Cu(HCOO)2 - HCONH2 - H2O system at 25 0C was studied  by isothermal method. In the system concentration range of crystallization of new congruently soluble compound of 2Cu(HCOO)2 ∙ HCONH2 ∙ 4H2O is set. The presence of the new compound was  determined by using XRD analysis, DTA/TG and IR spectroscopic analysis. It has been shown that in complex compound coordination of formamide oxygen atom is through a carbonyl group. It has been shown that a thermolysis is a complex multistage process involving the dehydration step, decomposition of the complex, metal oxide formation . The unit cell parameters a, b, c , hkl, values of interplanar spacings and relative intensities have been calculated.
